Festive Doodle is a top-down circular yoke sweater knit in 4 colors. In spite of the complex appearance of this design, it is actually fairly easy to knit, with only 2 colors per round and no long floats to carry, making this a wonderful project to keep your hands busy and calm your mind. Changing needle sizes (optional) easily creates flattering A-line shaping. Retrosaria Mondim yarn is a beautiful, rustic Portuguese wool that is fantastic for colorwork. Any fingering weight yarn that creates a suitable fabric would work as well.

Note! Needle size is suggested only, you will need to swatch to determine the needle size needed to achieve gauge.
Ribbing: US 2/2.75 mm
Needle A: US 3/3.25 mm
Needle B: US 4/3.5 mm (optional for A-line shaping)

Gauge:
Needle A (yoke, upper sleeves): 22 sts and 32 rounds over 4” 10 cm in colorwork
Needle B (body, lower sleeves): 19 sts and 24 rounds over 4” 10 cm in colorwork

You should always knit your swatch the same way that the pattern is knit—in this case, in the round. Block your swatch as you will your finished garment and allow it to dry fully before measuring.

Sizes:
Measurements given are for the finished garment. This sweater is designed to fit with 4-9” 10-23 cm of positive ease at the bust and 2-4” 5-10 cm of positive ease at the upper arm.

Sample pictured is a size 2 on a model with a 35” 89 cm bust, worn with 5.5” 14 cm of positive ease.

Please note that fit described here represents the pattern knitted with the A-line shaping. If you choose not to do the shaping your hip measurement will be the same as the bust circumference, and the lower sleeve will be the same as the upper sleeve.
