I needed a panel to add to a baby blanket and turn it into a lapghan. I figured, if I am making it I might as well offer it to others. It is a variation of the Heart Levels 40 square.

You will receive two files

  • one file is a chart marked with X’s for mosaic crochet
  • the other file has written instructions for use with the interlocking crochet method, a single-page chart that can be used for both techniques, and then written line-by-line instructions for use with the overlay mosaic technique.

Chart is 149 x 39.

The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.

Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting). See an example here.

I have YouTube tutorials available for both crochet methods! Follow this link to get to my YouTube channel and find my other social links: https://ashleeslint.com/link-in-bio.
