What is more fun to knit than a combination of pretty stitch patterns resulting in an ornamental cowl? Designed to be playful and use just one skein of Tibetan Singles, Heart Warmer is meant to be your go-to neck piece this winter and spring. Or even next :)

If you need more of “heart-warming” stitch patterns in your life check out the Shawl, the Hat or the Tee.

Note on yardage: not all my testers used Tibetan Singles, some used smaller fingering weight skeins and completed the cowl successfully. If you wish to substitute the yarn, use fingering weight skeins with yardage no smaller than 440y and swatch. Or you can make each section a bit smaller. :) Happy knitting!

Size
One size: approx. 60 cm/24” circumference and 43 cm/17” high.

Yarn
1 skein of Thibetanus Cecily Grove Yarns (65% merino, 20% silk, 15% yak; 480m/525y per 120g) or any other fingering weight yarn which gives you the correct gauge. Shown in colorway Helianthus.

Needles
3.75 mm/US #5 circular needle (40 cm / 16” long).
3.5 mm/US #4 circular needle (40 cm / 16” long) or dpns, or one size smaller than gauge needles.
3.25 mm/US #3 circular needle (40 cm / 16” long) or dpns, or two sizes smaller than gauge needles.

Other
stitch marker, cable needle, tapestry needle for weaving, blocking pins.

Gauge
26 sts and 36 rnds = 10 cm / 4” in St st worked in the rnd with the largest needle (after wet blocking). Take time to save time - check your gauge. If necessary, adjust needle size to obtain the correct gauge.
