‘Of all the trees that are in the wood, the holly bears the crown’

The Holly Crown socks are a collaboration between myself and Suzanne of Greenlambkin Yarn. When we were discussing ideas, I came up with this simple textured stitch pattern that reminded me of holly leaves and berries, and the idea for the sock and the yarn soon followed. The name was inspired by the pattern and Suzanne’s daughter Ivy, so a lyric from the Christmas carol ‘The Holly and the Ivy’ fitted beautifully. This is a simple, enjoyable and relaxing knit, perfect for cosying up in front of the fire during the winter evenings.
