Turned out to be the wrong size for the wrong season so I frogged and reknit.

Used sizing info from Flax Light to adapt pattern for a newborn.

It turned out too big from what I know about newborns (which is virtually zero so far :) except that they are smaller than you’d expect). So Katrin had the great idea to leave it as a vest for now and add sleeves only if it fits correctly next winter.

Knit Notes

CO 140sts on 2.5mm.
2x2 rib for 16r.
St st for 48r (=15cm from cast-on).
Separate for sleeves, continue in st for 14r.
18r of 2x2 rib (garter for selvedge).
Short rows as per pattern (start 24sts in, 6 sr turns) for back, start 2r earlier and 7 sr turns for front.

Sew on buttons.
