This is based on the concept of Shawlography, but over half is my own design. I centered my yarn choices around one of my auction yarns, Marriner Silver Dew. The others are all stash yarns but one; two were clearance at my LYS, one is left from my Elena cape test knit, one is from a Koigu set of which I used some in my Westfjords Wanderer, and I purchased the last one as my darkest color to frame the rest.
The first section is a slight modification of Shawlography’s short row wedges. 3 other sections are based on or directly from Shawlography as well - slip stitch v’s, slip stitch columns, and crossed stitches (which were also in one of my vintage magazines). The rest are mostly from various vintage knitting magazines. Since my focus yarn appears to date from the 1940s or 50s, I wanted somewhat of a vintage vibe. I am extremely happy with how it’s turning out. I only have the border left to do, which will be a variation of feather and fan to continue the vintage feeling.
The Silver Dew yarn feels fragile, so I really hope it won’t disintegrate with wear. It’s very lightweight and fuzzy, almost like mohair. I had to rip back a few rows with it and ended up cutting the yarn. The frogged yarn was unusable; the fuzz peeled off in many places. Thankfully I have plenty.

I decided after New Year’s to work on this some more. I am doing Kaffe Fassett’s Persian poppies as a border instead of doing feather and fan as I had previously considered. The rows are well over 400 stitches at this point and I have intarsia tails hanging everywhere, so no updated photo until I have a few more rows done. I added a couple more colors for the poppies.
