Notes

trying a sock yarn with nylon to see if they’ll wear better (gah! I’ve knit two pairs of house socks for my mom using Malabrigo Arroyo and after just a few months, there are holes in the soles!)

twisted german cast-on
cuff - 14 rnds (2x2 ribbing)
leg - 50 rnds
heel - 25 rows
heel turn -start on WS S1, P13, P2tog, P1, turn; next row S1, K5, SSK, K1, turn … 14 sts remain
gusset - pickup 12+1 (20 stitches on each heel needle)
foot - 55 rnds
toe - 12 rnds (EOR 4x ER 4x)

A friend suggested going down a needle size for the heel … I tried that on the 2nd sock - knit the heel flap and bottom of the foot rounds for the heel gusset on size 2’s. Added an extra round to the foot (56 rounds) to make up for that. TBD how it wears, but it was an easy modification and my mom has really narrow feet.

Finally, super pleased to see that I have plenty of yarn leftover to knit a 3rd sock … that out to help with the wear!
