I followed the pattern as written except for the armhole and neckbands and the overall length. I wanted this to be a sleeveless top for summer, so I tightened up the openings and (with the size 4 needle) picked up 2 stitches for every 3 rows on the vertical edges and 1 for 1 on the horizontal edges … it worked! Note that I had 100 stitches for each armhole and 112 for the neck. I knit 7 rounds of ribbing for the sleeves/neck and 14 for the bottom of the body.

Finished (post-blocking) ~ 35” bust (1.5” ease) and 10-1/2” body (11-1/2” counting the armhole ribbing) - note that post-block the gauge tightened up a bit as expected - so glad I blocked my swatch - and that (for once?!) my swatch didn’t lie!

I chose an inexpensive yarn to test the fit of this and have to say … the finished sweater is pretty great! I expect I’ll get a lot of wear from it this summer (and future spring/summers). It’s a real bonus that the yarn is machine washable AND dryable since I chose white for this test!

Sara saw the pattern and the white yarn and named the project.
