Notes

This was my first weaving project! I am definitely a beginner with lots to learn, but I am so thrilled that I made a beautiful piece of cloth!

I used Plaidmaker to help me design the plaid pattern I wove. It was an incredibly useful tool to experiment with. I got very lucky that it worked out I could use the pixels from Plaidmaker and turn them exactly into my warp threads. I used a 10 dent reed and warped as follows:

20 cinnamon
20 white
6 melon
20 white
20 cinnamon

For the weft I wove as follows:

20 picks melon
20 picks cinnamon
20 picks white
4 picks caramel
20 picks white
20 picks cinnamon

One area I can really improve in is keeping my picks per inch consistent across the project. I know practice will help, but would definitely accept any tips from people. I tried measuring my PPI at first, but quickly found that it changed with the tension on my loom. In each section I wove I tried to match the PPI of the fabric I could see on the cloth beam, but clearly I was not super effective at it, as you can see in the pictures comparing the two ends.
