Designed with Suburban Stitcher for Zombie Knitpocalypse 2021!

Recalibrate is a reversible modular fingering weight top knit at a loose gauge. 9 finished bust circumferences are provided, each with 2 length options (hip length or full length, 4” (10 cm) longer). There are a total of 18 sizes.

This pattern is beginner friendly, and great for using up leftover bits of fingering weight yarn. Testers have been knocking it out of the park with amazing color combinations and striping patterns. They have mixed different fiber contents throughout their pieces, and recommend experimenting with swatching to see how different fiber content behaves together. Some test knitters found they preferred to use softer fibers for sections in direct contact with their skin, such as the underarm panels and sleeve cuffs.

Pattern includes directions for how to adjust dimensions to make a perfect fit. I include photo tutorials of techniques as well as video explanations of style and fit. The pattern includes a full schematic and a blank coloring page. (NOTE: the schematic shown here in the pattern listing is a simplified version to give you a sense of the overall dimensions. Each component is spelled out for each size in the final pattern.)

This #sizeinclusive pattern has been professionally tech edited and every single size has been test knit!

YARN
I used a mix of Sock Yarn (75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, 460 yd / 421 m per 100 g) and Slub Sock Yarn (90% Superwash Merino, 10% Nylon, 438 yd / 401 m per 100 g), all from Suburban Stitcher. Use any fingering weight yarn you choose to achieve gauge. Have fun experimenting with color placement and fiber content, using your swatches as tools to help understand how different fibers behave.

I use the description BODY to refer to the main body of yarn and the hem. As shown in the gray/cream/yellow sample, the BODY uses about 60% of the cream yarn (which is also used for the hem) and 40% of the gray yarn. The overall yarn needed for the body can be split among as many colors as you like.

I use the term TRIM to refer to the front and back stripes, side stripes, sleeve cuffs, and neck trim. Again, the yarn required for TRIM refers to the total amount needed to complete these pieces.

Yarn estimate includes 10% buffer.

SIZING
This design looks great with 6-20” (15-50 cm) of positive ease. Finished bust dimensions range from 34.25” to 70” (87 to 178 cm). Model bust size and finished piece size are noted in photos.

Thank you to Knitpicks for providing yarn support for some of the 50” + testers to allow for better accessibility to pattern testing.

Yarn for the gray sample was provided by Suburban Stitcher. She’s also modeling that sample!
