This IS NOT A SEWING TUTORIAL for the recycled purse part of this bag. THIS IS THE CROCHET PATTERN ONLY FOR the Pocketbook Purse/Bag.

I’d call this an intermediate crochet tutorial. A beginner could probably do this pattern, but might have some difficulty. I do have almost 30 tutorial photographs in this 11-page PDF so it is easy to follow.

Let me show you how to take a big pile of ugly or old scrap yarn and make this nice big scrap yarn pocketbook purse!

US Crochet Terms.

My example measures approximately 12x18”

You can use any colors and make a fun, unique purse!

Materials:

Any type of yarn can be used for this project. My example uses mainly #4 worsted weight size yarn in assorted brands mixed with some other fun fibers. I give details on yarns and hooks and holding multiple strands at once.

There is no yardage listed for this pattern as it is a scrap yarn project and I have pulled dozens of ugly skeins and partially used skeins to make this bag.

This pattern does call for two metal rings and an adjustable bag strap. I purchased two thrift store items to repurpose my rings and strap, but metal rings and adjustable purse straps are available at most local craft stores and Amazon. You can actually see in my large MESSENGER BAG pattern, a strap that is adjustable and wide that I purchased from Amazon.

I am here all to help and support you in any way I can after you download my pattern.

I would love to see your scrappy yarn bags made from this pattern so please tag me on IG @theburgundybasket

Due to the nature of PDF and it being an Instant Download I cant refund your fee -which I’ve kept low - but am here to assist if you need. Please let me know if you find any errors or have any trouble.
