The true fantasy of this image is seeing stars above a big city - no pollution! The large stars form the libra constellation; no special reasoning, I just thought it was simple enough to fit. I have a similar design called Moonlight on the City Shawl because I couldn’t decide which design I liked better.

You can use any colors you like. The more they contrast, the better the design will show. Sample was crocheted by Divya Tellakula using the Interlocking Crochet Short Side pattern; black is used as the main color. Her shawl turned out 27” x 74”.

You will receive four files:

  • Interlocking Crochet pattern and multi-page chart for starting with the LONG bottom edge,
  • Interlocking Crochet pattern and multi-page chart for starting at the short SIDE,
  • Optional Pocket instructions
  • Mosaic Crochet pattern (including pockets) and multi-page X-marked chart.

You may want to start with the pockets first as practice with the interlocking mesh and as a gauge swatch.

The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.

Mosaic crochet uses single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row (overlay). The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting). See an example here.

I have YouTube tutorials available for both crochet methods! Follow this link to get to my YouTube channel and find my other social links: https://ashleeslint.com/link-in-bio.
