I wanted a chili red sweater for fall and this pattern is absolutely perfect for a bold yarn color. I have been hoarding this beautiful yarn and it’s finally time! This yarn is non super wash and isn’t exactly the softest, but I absolutely love how crisp the stitch pattern looks especially after blocking!

I got gauge with the recommended needles. I knit size 3 for about 8 inches of ease.
The stitch pattern is very easy to memorize and this sweater knit up surprisingly fast. I did both sleeves and the collar in 1 week.

Andrea’s instructions are extremely clear and easy to follow and there are also useful tips included to make things even easier to understand. I followed the pattern exactly as written except for omitting the final chart repeat for the body so my sweater is about 2 inches shorter. I also absolutely love how neat the short rows are; I can barely tell where they start as there’s no interruption to the stitch pattern.

I did have to be a bit careful with how I did the sleeve decreases because the pattern doesn’t line up for a little bit here.
All I did was just continue alternating the knit and purl chart repeat but with less stitches each time so the pattern would line up. Once I was done blocking I realized it was barely noticeable anyway.

I think this is such a versatile piece, it goes well with jeans and leggings and also looks super cute tucked into a midi skirt. I love how casually cool my finished sweater looks and I can’t wait to wear this when the weather cools down!
