Go from seeds, to sprouts, to crops with this quick, engaging stitch sampler cowl inspired by Stardew Valley. Fans of the game can grab a gradient cake of same from Knit Circus, or pick your favorite solid/tonal yarn and pair it with a contrasting color from stash!

This cowl is knit from the bottom up, with 4 different stitch patterns separated by bands of garter stitch. It’s worked in a single color until the 4th patterning section, where a contrast color is added.

Both charts and written instructions are provided.

A low-vision version of the pattern is also available. This version is written in 24 point sans serif font (Arial) in all black text. It has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out.

Finished sizes:

Fingering weight yarn in your favorite base. Choose a CC that has good contrast and no overlap with MC. (If using a gradient MC, CC only needs good contrast with whichever end of the gradient it will be used together with.)
