“To all parents of first year students, the new school term is about to begin.

Lessons will commence in The Forbidden Forest on Halloween night. It is vital that all students are equipped with their Philosopher’s Cowl in preparation for this.

Enclosed are instructions on how the cowl is made. Feel free to select yarns that reflect your child’s personality or maybe their house colours.

Please note that howlers will be sent to the parents of any student who does not have their cowl by Halloween.“

The Philosopher’s Cowl is knit with 10 x 20g mini skeins, or leftovers to the equivalent. It is a fun and meditative knit, perfect for chilly afternoons curled up in front of the fire or long lazy summer days.

It is an ideal project for both beginners and more experienced knitters and would make a wonderful gift knit too.
