My Mad May 2013 Project: Pretty like Malabrigo March, but for Madeline Tosh yarns, hosted by the MadTosh group

I’ve been coveting a cowl like this ever since I saw Julie unveil the pattern on her blog. A light cowl sounds perfect for summer. Since I like my cowls on the looser end, and since I wanted to be able to loop the cowl around my neck three times I cast on for 8 pattern repeats. That’s 208 stitches. I decided to stick with my favorite long-tail cast on, and decided to estimate the tail length instead of using Techknitter’s two strands method. Since I’ll be dropping the plain stockingette stitches later I want to weave in as few ends as necessary.

I don’t really wear handwarmers even though I like them, so I’m starting off with the cowl first. I’m figuring I’ll knit it about 8-9’’ long. Oh, and the pattern is easy to memorize, without being boring (I can’t say that for another wip that I’m currently knitting).
