Notes

Making this hat for Kerry for photography and modelling purposes.

For this hat she has asked for it in Misty Grey and the white Chenille, so two colours instead of 3. Usually the design uses grey but for that pop of colour inbetween the chenille and this time the main hat will be grey too.

Loved making this pattern again :-) although I think I prefer it with the 3 colour option instead of just 2. I still think this hat looks great, I just prefer the design with 3 colours where grey is used for that pop of colour between the white Chenille yarn!

Please note the Flutterby yarn did have a few more grams than the 100g that comes per ball. This means it might of been up to another 2-3g on too of what I’ve recorded under yarn amounts used.

Top Tip

When using the chenille Chunky yarn make sure to tie a knot in the end, this stops all the fluff coming off. What I do is join the chenille yarn (in your preferred way) and then I tie a knot in the end of the yarn that you’ll be sewing in later or carrying along with you until it’s worked over. Don’t forget when you cut the chenille yarn once your round is done you’ll want to do the same, just join the next yarn first and then tie that knot at the end of the chenille yarn. It really is worth it as it will stop all the fluff coming off :-) I tend to use my scissors and cut off any excess yarn after the knot otherwise you’ll still find some fluff coming off.

For the pom pom I used my Clover pom pom maker from the small set, I used the 45mm one for this hat. It looks great!

Photos include a photo collage with this hat pattern made up all in 0-3 months in different colours. Below are links to the other hats in this photo;

Lilac: http://ravel.me/bedcrafter/wwhac3

I’ve added photos at the bottom (technically the start) showing all the baby hats I made for Kerry which include this hat. I’ve also included photos of the baby hats I made from this pattern, so that includes the links to the hats above. After these photos you’ll then see it starts with my work in progress photos of this hat, finishing with finished photos and photo collages (so the top of the photos, technically the end).
