Notes

I was a little short on yarn due to tapping into my skeins to finish this to go with these, but I knew that going in. (I had 3 grams less than I had used making this pair in another colorway of the same yarn.) I was able to get 7 1/2 inches of leg knit before I had to start working the picot cuff. Close enough.

I used a Turkish Cast-on instead of Judy’s Magic Cast-on. I also intended to cast on about 24 stitches instead of 16 to start in order to make the toe a little less pointy, but my brain must have gotten stuck on “divide by 2” because instead of casting on 12 stitches per side for each sock, I did 6 (which somehow escaped my notice until I was halfway finished with the leg), so the toe is actually more pointy instead of less. Oops. Oddly enough, the socks still fit relatively well. I’m not sure what that says about my feet.

These are the first item I’ve made on my new 40” Addi fixed circular, and the better needle has significantly improved the laddering situation I had with the first pair. The cable is still not quite as flexible as I would like and wants to curl, so I think I’ll try the hot water trick to see if I can straighten/relax it a little before starting another project.
